What is Kybella?
Phosphatidylcholine with deoxycholate is a medication that is injected into the subcutaneous area to disrupt fat cells and reduce the amount of fat stored in that area. The use of this medication to treat the “double chin” is approved by Health Canada.

Preparation for your appointment
- Come with clean skin. If unable to do so, the area will be cleansed by the provider.
- If this is your first treatment, a health history and consent must be completed prior to your appointment.
- Avoid Tylenol/Advil and alcohol for 5 days prior to your appointment if possible.
- Avoid taking anticoagulants the morning before your appointment to lessen the possibility of bruising and bleeding. Medication can be resumed after your appointment.
Post treatment care
- If you are experiencing pain and swelling you can ice the area and take Tylenol/Advil for the discomfort.
