What is Botox?
Botox is a neuromodulator that is injected into a muscle and causes temporary paralysis of that muscle.
Although I only inject Botox for cosmetic purposes and not medical (hyperhidrosis, migraines, pain, overactive bladder, etc), it has been noted that cosmetic Botox does help to prevent headaches of less severity. Botox can also be used for TMJ pain/teeth clenching.
Product | Cost per unit | When will I see results | Longevity |
---|---|---|---|
Botox | $10 | 7-10 days | 3-4 months |
Dysport | $8 | 3-5 days | 3-4 months |
Xeomin | not available | ||
Nuceiva | $8 | 3-5 days | 3-4 months |
Note: Although you see results sooner with Dysport and Nuceiva, full results are achieved after 14 days for all products. If a touch up is required you can book that appointment after 14 days. Individual results will vary and the longevity of the product is an estimate. The longevity depends on how fast it takes your body to metabolize the product.
